This is the aerial view of the proposed F1 street circuit in Singapore. If all goes well and if a decision is made by April this year, the F1 2008 season will see the Singapore GP as one of the venues for the race to the World Championship. It is scheduled to be just before the Japanese GP. I also read in the papers that F1 GP is the third most popular sporting event internationally after the World Cup Soccer followed by the Olympics. Imagine the revenue that will be generated if we have the F1 here in Singapore. The hotels and the F&B sector are not the only ones to benefit from this event. I reckon that the publicity for Singapore should we host the F1 is about the same if not bigger than the IMF-World Bank Conference held in Suntec last year. Only this time, members of the public will be able to savour and feel the closeness and the excitement when they see and hear those cars zip past our narrow and winding roads. For those who have been to Monte Carlo to witness the Monaco GP, you will know what I am talking about. So let's wait and see as only time will tell............
