Sinopec Chinese GP Qualifying
History is about to be made provided the podium finishes are the same as today's qualifying. Hamilton took pole position and defending champion Alonso could only manage P4 with both the Ferrari's in P2 and P3. Of the many circuits around the world, my two favourite are the Monte Carlo and Shanghai. The Monaco for obvious reasons is the street circuit and the tunnel is one of the main attractions as that is about the only place where the cars can go flat out and having to brake heavily at the chicane just as they exit. The Shanghai circuit on the other hand has a beautiful paddock and also the shape of the circuit is in the shape of the chinese word "Shang4". There is another circuit which sadly will be dropped in next year's season and that is the Indianapolis Speedway in the US. The highlight of this circuit is that cars can take turn 13 at full throttle - 19000rpm. Hearing the engine sounds at that speed is simply fantastic. Let's look forward to the Singapore GP next year. I wonder what will the circuit be called? Marina GP? Merlion GP? Integrated Resort GP? Raffles GP? There might be chances of the commentators saying things like "Fullerton Curve" "Anderson Bridge" "Flyer or St Andrew's straight".......
